MAC team work towards a common goal- Prosperity. To bring change to the community and achieve the goal, the team of executive members work hand in hand. The determination of team to nurture Kerala culture to the younger generation is admirable. Malayali Association Cairns Inc. (MAC) is a synonym of Keralites in Cairns. Read on to learn more about some of our incredible team members.
Mr Jomcy joined Malayali Association Cairns Inc. (MAC) 4 years ago with the vision and drive to improve upon our Nonprofit Organisation, and focused on developing the organisation with experience and integrity. He also plays the anchor role in the present committee. Jomcy also captains the renowned cricket club of Cairns - Cairns Tigers.
NAWAZ V M
Mr Nawaz, as the Secretary acts as an information and reference point for the Chair and other committee members: clarifying past practices and decisions; confirming legal requirements; and retrieving relevant documentation. He combines the relevant ideas shared by the fellow team members and implements it to practice.
Mr Rajesh as a treasurer oversees the financial administration of the organisation, review procedures and financial reporting, advise the board on financial strategy, and advise on fundraising.
Experienced, trustworthy, fun. These are just a few of the ways team members describe Mrs Molly Thomas. She posses a good sense of humour and is well known to the community.
Mr Robin decorates the joint-secretary role. HIS role is to support the Chair in ensuring the smooth functioning of the executive committee. He brings his years of experience and skills to the forefront in helping the organisation grow and succeed.
SANDEEP S NAIR
Mr Sandeep, our joint-treasurer, has a scrutineers' role over all aspects of financial management, working closely with other members of the executive committee to safeguard the organisation's finances.
WOMEN'S FORUM CO-ORDINATOR
Mrs Jisha as the women's forum coordinator organises and direct all aspects of the women's recreational programs, oversee promotions, scheduling and assessment, supervise other members, and perform coaching/teaching/supervision duties as assigned. She plays an integral role in developing a strong bond between the female members of MAC.
CULTURAL AND SPORTS CO-ORDINATOR
Mrs Dhanya supports the implementation of cultural programming and assists with assessing Malayalam cultural programs. She also provides coordination/support for administration processes/procedures related to cultural programming and ensures accurate program records are maintained. An additional responsibility given to her is to organise and conduct annual sports events, which is one of her passions. Dhanya is a well-known dancer and has excellent choreography skills.
CULTURAL AND SPORTS CO-ORDINATOR
Mrs Aggi Sony, in her role plans for each sport within the assigned program, set up all competition, leagues, registration, and provide needed facilities, equipment, supplies, medical needs, and personnel to operate the program. She organises, develops, and maintain assigned recreational sports programs, including coaching and teaching responsibilities, and planning for team activities.
Mr Sabu, the hospitality coordinator, is a key member as he helps in organising activities across different departments to make sure members are provided with quality services promptly. His team help liaise between different people & multiple departments consisting of catering, and event management to ensure all independent activities are proceeded as per overall plans and objectives of the organisation. They need to manage the inventory department effectively to ensure routine work proceeds without any interruptions or shortcomings. Together with fellow executives, the hospitality coordinator establishes the overall service goals for the organisation. With his skills, Mr Sabu has proven that he is a great asset to the MAC executive team.
Mr Joju is congenial, mature, detail-oriented, and possesses proven people and communication skills. Mr Joju in his dedicated and pivotal role looks at the organisation's big-picture service plan. He is discerning and perceptive, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, as well as, anticipate the needs of all members of the MAC family. His team has been able to multi-task while maintaining a pleasant and “member friendly” orientation. Along with his fellow team members he makes sure all members of the organisation is being served with utmost dignity.
